Battle of the Hallways Game was a success!

12:1 is our student to faculty ratio! We are blessed to be able to offer engaging lessons with experienced faculty for our students. Additionally, 74% of our faculty have been teaching for over 20 years.

Our JLCCS Care Bears program is an amazing way for our older students to continue to develop their empathy skills as they assist our elementary students. Additionally, we love for our younger students to be able to partner up with their older mentors and work on projects. This program is truly a blessing!

Discovery 4H at JLCCS offers lots of opportunities for our students. In 4‑H, our students complete hands-on projects in areas like health, science, agriculture and civic engagement in a positive environment where they receive guidance.

In addition to core subjects, our students take additional classes including Spanish, art, music, physical education, computer-technology, and religion. Our students are also taught cursive manuscript in elementary school.

Our students did an incredible job representing JLCCS at the Diocesan Spelling Bee!

These boys discussed respect for authority at their last Blue Knights meeting. Afterwards they played Simon Peter Says and then focused on the lives of St. Boniface and St. Thomas More. Later this month, the Blue Knights will receive their shield, cape, and patches at a ceremony.

Special thanks to Mayor Don Denbow for coming to James L. Collins Catholic School on Monday morning to make a proclamation about National Catholic Schools Week! Afterwards our school came together and prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

Stay warm today! At our last Star Wars Club meeting, our students made themed snowflakes and built starships with legos and magnetic tiles.

Our kindergarten and 1st grade students were able to volunteer at the Corsicana Public Library on Monday and help clean. We love being able to serve our community!

Congratulations to these amazing JLCCS artists who competed and won in the Knights of Columbus Keep Christ in Christmas art contest. Their artwork will go on to compete at the district level. Special thanks to the Knights of Columbus #5211 Council.

We are kicking off a Read-a-thon on Thursday, Jan.19th for the 100th day of school. Our goal is to raise money for the Library to buy new books and replace lost and well-used books. We are asking students to read for 100 Minutes over 10 Days (January 19 - February 3). Support us online at: https://www.read-a-thon.com/school/_53306

We are looking for businesses to sponsor our annual calendar fundraiser. We need thirty fantastic prizes (one for each day in April) and overall calendar sponsors. For more information, go to: https://www.smore.com/dh7gw

“Spread love everywhere you go: first of all in your own house. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next door neighbor… Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God’s kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting.”- Saint Teresa of Calcutta

Our flag football club loved getting in an extra practice before the Christmas break. These students are ready to get back on the field!

Guitar Club Fun!

At our last US Military History Club meeting our students engaged in battling via strategic games. They played Battleship, Risk, War, and Stratego. These students love learning outside of the classroom through the variety of clubs, academic competitions, and athletic competitions we offer.
