
Readers are Leaders!!!! Students at JLCCS read over 4,015 books for the year, which was a total of 22,305,089 words through the Accelerated Reader program. We are truly proud of how hard our students have worked to reach their goals. Additionally, we are grateful to our preschool, kindergarten, and first grade teachers who truly give our students a fantastic foundation with Saxon Phonics!

Our students had such a great time at their AR Parties this week! Our amazing PTC treated them to Schulman's Movie Bowl Grille - Corsicana for a movie with kids pack for reaching their Accelerated Reader goals this school year. Afterwards, our classes went to IOOF Park and enjoyed a pizza lunch from Cicis Pizza (Cicis W. Hwy 31) and played. Congratulations students on reaching your AR goals!











Congratulations to our Navarro County Pens to Lens Award recipients. In the junior high division- Paulina won first place and Josi won second place. There was a three-way tie for third place with Luciano, Charles, and Adrian. JLCCS had a sweep of all of the junior high awards. Fellow classmates were in attendance to support and perform the scripts at the event.








Our sixth and seventh grade students attended a spiritual retreat this week out at the Gamez Farm. Their retreat focused on faith and fellowship. We were blessed to have Ms. Kim Brown as our facilitator and Mr. Mike Gamez prepared a wonderful lunch. Our students even enjoyed a little bit of fishing.











Our Swifties had a fantastic final meeting. Throughout the year they focused on being kind, being brave, and how to be a good leader. Special thanks to Mrs. Freeze and Mrs. Wilson for advising this club.



Mrs. Green’s Artist/Author Tea was a huge success. We are so proud of the hardwork our second grade class has done this year!

Our flag football club just wrapped up their year with their last practice. Special thanks to Coach Nelson and Coach Camarillo for all that you have done this year to promote teamwork.


Our Little Flowers Girls' Club wrapped up their last meeting by putting together their scrapbooks for the school year. Each month as the girls earn a patch for a virtue, they also create a scrapbook page that includes a Bible verse, quote from a Saint, and information specific to the virtue. We want to thank Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Smith, and Mrs. Cozart for advising this club throughout the year. Additionally, we want to thank all of the moms that attend meetings and assist with all of the crafts.











JLCCS will have a gorgeous new STEM Lab installed this summer, and we are looking for the perfect candidate to lead our students in attaining 21st century skills. Prior teaching experience is preferred; minimum bachelor's degree plus a growth mindset is required.


Our U.S. military history club wrapped up the school year with a military trivia game, followed by some boot camp activities on the playground. Special thanks to Mrs. Hughes, Mrs. Garrison, and Mrs. Cozart for advising this club throughout the year. We also want to thank all of the veterans who attended meetings with our club members. We appreciate your service to our country and your willingness to educate our students.










Congratulations to these amazing students who represented JLCCS and competed at the State PSIA contest this morning. Frida placed 6th in creative writing. Eli placed 8th in number sense. Cade placed 8th and Luciano placed 9th in art memory. Miles competed in spelling for JLCCS. We are truly proud of these amazing students!







We are so proud of our students who competed at the 4H District Competition in West, Texas today! Lauryl won 1st in vocal. Benjamin won 1st in variety show and 2nd in public speaking. Madeleine won 4th in vocal. Great job!
