"Lay all your cares about the future trustingly in God’s hands, and let yourself be guided by the Lord just like a little child.”
– St Teresa Benedicta of the Cross

Congratulations to our graduates on being confirmed!

PHOTO: James L. Collins Catholic School welcomed Judge James Lagomarsino to campus for his sixth year in attendance. Each year, the third grade class at James L. Collins Catholic School has Lagomarsino visit and students read the story, "The Trial of Cardigan Jones,” by author Tim Egan. The story allows the Navarro County judge to bring his real world knowledge of our court system to life for these students. - Courtesy photo

Our library at JLCCS is named after Gioia Keeney. Keeney, a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, was a pillar in the Corsicana community, and her leadership on our School Advisory Council and throughout our town provided incredible support for JLCCS. It was through her efforts that our school continued to develop and grow. Through her efforts, our library has a collection of over 10,000 items including books, reference materials, videotapes, DVD’s, and software.

Our preschool students love their learning centers!

Mr. Lagomarsino's fifth grade class were trained to be flag bearers and put up the United States of America and the State of Texas flag each school day. Special thanks to our two volunteers from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for training them and we also appreciate the generosity of our donor who purchased these flags off our Amazon Wishlist! Thank you!

"There is nothing on this earth more to be prized than true friendship.” — Thomas Aquinas
With our 12:1 student to teacher ratio, we are thankful that our students can develop strong friendships that will last long after they graduate.

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the holy Spirit." - Romans 15:13

Our school is blessed to have a state of the art STEM SmartLab on campus. Our SmartLab is in its second year of operation and our students have the opportunity to engage in hands on learning experiences that challenge them in a fun and interactive way.

"Entrust your works to the LORD, and your plans will succeed." - Proverbs 16:3

These second grade students in Mrs. Southard's class did a great job working in a small group to build base ten models!

These kindergarten kids love spending time in the library and learning together! JLCCS is blessed to have our own library on campus. Our school also participates in the Accelerated Reader program to help students improve their reading skills!

Congratulations Madeleine for winning first place in the Texas Catholic Daughters of Americas Education Contest. Her entry was a computer art piece that reflected the theme of “how does my love shine for others?” Her entry won at the state CDA level and will go on to compete at Nationals later this month. Our local Corsicana CDA court was excited to announce this award this morning after Mass at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

It’s time to celebrate! Our students enjoyed ice cream sundaes at lunch today as they celebrated the Feast of the Assumption! We are also grateful to have such wonderful volunteers who came up to serve.

These seventh grade students are spending time drawing in Mrs. Huerta's art class.

It was a perfect morning to play outside on our preschool playground. These 3 and 4 year old students are always moving!

Such incredible watercolor paintings by our third grade students. We are looking forward to seeing what other creative projects Mrs. Gibbs and Mrs. Harris have in store for these children. .

These kids were excited that they were having Cicis Pizza today for lunch!

Our Altar Servers went to Camp Ascend yesterday on a field trip. They were able to come together as a group to pray and play for the day as they learned new skills that focused on hitting the target. Our students also learned that the common Greek word for sin used in the New Testament is hamartia. This word derives from a technical word used in archery. It literally means to miss the mark. It can also be used to express willful rebellion against God as well as making a mistake and falling short.
Our group was grateful to Father Juan Carlos Marin and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for hosting this retreat!
