
Such a blessing! Special thanks to all of our families at JLCCS who donated non-perishable food items. JLCCS partnered with the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court #2691 and brought items for their annual food drive at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.





Congratulations to our Varsity volleyball team for winning both of their games today! Go Bears!!!



All of these students did such a great job today at the Navarro County 4H Food Show & Food Challenge. In the Intermediate competition, the Cooking Cubs placed second, the Cooking Captains placed third. In the Junior food challenge contest, the Bitty Bakers placed seventh, Lettuce Chop placed sixth, and the Cooking Cowgirls placed third. In the Food Show competition Ava, Lauryl, and Benjamin all placed first in their food categories and will move onto District. In the junior competition, Loretta, Georgia, and Madeleine all placed second in their categories. We are so proud of their hard work!

Crazy Hair Day at JLCCS!











JLCCS kicked off Red Ribbon Week with "Dress as a movie or TV character". Red Ribbon Week is an eight-day celebration sponsored by the National Family Partnership designed to increase drug prevention awareness and highlight a drug-free lifestyle. Our JLCCS student council hosts this event annually.











These 4H Food Challenge Teams have been working hard over the last several weeks to prepare for their upcoming challenge on Friday We wish them the best of luck as they compete in the county competition.

After a week of testing, these sweet kindergarten and first grade students enjoyed a classroom slumber party!




Our garden club does such a great job taking care of our campus. These students have learned a lot about plants and how to care for them. We really appreciate the efforts of Mrs. Garrison, Mr. Overton, and Mr. Masserelli.






Our third grade class participated in their first Math Workshop experience this week. They enjoyed playing all of the fun math games.







We had a wonderful day at the Hispanic Heritage Festival at James L. Collins Catholic School. Special thanks to Mrs. Huerta and Miss Hernandez for the amazing performances. We also appreciate all of the parent volunteers that helped with decorating our school and bringing such delicious treats for our students to sample. We also appreciate the support of our faculty and staff members who worked with our classes to educate them these last several weeks on Hispanic Heritage.











These girls continue to work together as a team as they played two games this weekend up at St. Joseph's.








Special thanks to Mrs. Reed and our alum, Patricia, for coming to our last 4H meeting to teach our students about consumer decision-making.











We were blessed to have two colonels (Steve & Chris Richmond) from the Commemorative Air Force Coyote Squadron on campus to speak with our U.S. Military History Club about their experiences in Vietnam. Our students are definitely excited to attend the annual Corsicana Airsho tomorrow at the Corsicana Airport.








Our elementary students focused on fire house safety with Corsicana Fire Rescue and their mobile fire house. Students learned how to identify potential hazards and what to do in case of a variety of emergencies.











Our 4th grade students enjoyed some traditional foods from Spanish speaking countries this week as they learn more about Hispanic Heritage. They sampled tres leches cake, flan, and chinichurri.





Some of our 4H Cooking Challenge teams were serving up healthy treats as they attended their first cooking practice.











These preschool students had a great time sampling all things "apple" as they celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day!
