
Today we celebrated Dr. Seuss’s Birthday and Read Across America. Our school was visited by the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, who stopped by our classrooms to read books to our students.











Our students had an incredible time at our campus-wide Black History Month celebration! We cannot thank Mrs. Nelson enough for orchestrating this event. We loved how she collaborated with JLCCS alumni for our event and truly engaged our students. Additionally, we want to thank Mrs. Huerta for working with our students to create artwork for our hallways and this event.









It was such a blessing for our preschool students to be able to serve others in our community by donating blankets to those in need.


Our 4H students participate in a variety of competitions throughout the year. In many of their competitions these students have to demonstrate speaking skills and teamwork. During our regular meetings they have the opportunity to practice both.









Our chess club meets weekly practice their skills with Mr. Lagomarsino and Mrs. Denis.

Our garden club spent last week learning in the classroom when it was cold outside. Our garden beds survived the freeze, and we appreciate the time and effort these students put into learning how to garden.











We are so proud of our students (Kate, Ava, Benjamin, and Eli) that represented our district and competed in the Regional Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest. Kate placed 2nd in her division and Ava placed 3rd in her division. Congratulations Kate and Ava!











Congratulations to the winners of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Education Contest hosted by Corsicana CDA Court #2691. These students will go on to compete at the State competition. In Division II - for Art: Laila, Poetry: Adrian, Essay: Lauryl, and Photography: Benjamin. In Division I - for Poetry: Madeleine and for Art: Ariadne. Honorable Mentions were given to Lee for Division II Poetry and Benjamin for Division II Essay. Madeleine received Honorable Mention for Division I Essay.


We love having our students participate in Mass each week. Our students participate by reading, assisting our pre-K and kinder students, serving as Altar Servers, and singing in the choir loft.











It was such a blessing for our Little Flowers Girls' Club to work together with the Catholic Daughter's of Americas to assemble gift bags for the Dallas seminarians. The girls were focusing on the virtue of kindness this month.









PSIA is right around the corner! These students have been working on art memory, music memory, and oral interpretation. Special thanks to all of our PSIA coaches for working with our students to get them ready for next month’s competition.







We are so proud of our PSIA One Act Play team. They performed in Frisco this weekend and did an incredible job performing 10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse. Congratulations to Joaquin who was awarded All Star Tech at the competition. Eva received Honorable Mention All Star Cast. Lauryl and Benjamin received All Star Cast. Special thanks to Kim and Chad Freeze for all of their efforts directing and supporting this amazing production.











Happy Valentine's Day from JLCCS!











Mrs. Denis's classes used conversation hearts to write love letters and make convo comics. We love how she makes learning English fun.

Our seventh and eighth grade students were grateful to be able to visit with residents at Heritage Oaks and spread cheer!

These students did such a great job today on their dress rehearsal at the Warehouse. They will perform their PSIA One Act Play on Saturday. We wish them the best of luck! Special thanks to Mrs. Freeze for directing our cast.




This week in Mrs. Gibbs and Mrs. Harris's class, our third grade students read informational text about life in Antarctica. Afterwards they painted watercolor penguins and did an incredible job.
