At JLCCS we have a tradition in which our graduating 8th grade class walks the hall one last time and our entire student body comes out and cheers for them. Here are the photos from the 2023 Clap Out!
The third grade class hosted an amazing Artist Gallery for their friends and family. Each child selected several pieces from their collection throughout the year to display. All of the students showcased their mosaic pieces and their collections included watercolors, chalks, pointillism, clay sculptures, and more. We love that Mrs. Gibb's hosts this event for our community!
We could not be more proud of our JLCCS Golf Team! They represented our school at their tournament today and had a great time. We cannot thank The Oaks Golf Course enough for supporting our school.
Please join us in praying for the first ever JLCCS Golf Team that will compete tomorrow. We wish them the best of luck! We also want to thank their coaches - Coach Smith, Coach Heard, and Coach Hall. Also, we truly appreciate The Oaks Golf Course for their support of our new team!
These fourth grade students in Mrs. Denis' class had a blast at their end of the year class party!
It was a Yes Day in Mrs. Hall's first grade class! The students worked to reach all of their academic objectives and were rewarded with a day of fun. Their teacher said "YES" to making slime, building forts, ripping up tests, playing soccer, eating cupcakes, having a pillow fight, and more.
These 4H students wrapped up their school year with a club party! 4‑H empowers young people with the skills to lead for a lifetime. It’s a research-based experience that includes mentors, hands-on projects, and meaningful leadership opportunities. Special thanks to Mrs. Whiteside, Mrs. Steele, and Mrs. Freeze for hosting this club throughout the year.
Readers are Leaders!!!! Students at JLCCS read over 4,015 books for the year, which was a total of 22,305,089 words through the Accelerated Reader program. We are truly proud of how hard our students have worked to reach their goals. Additionally, we are grateful to our preschool, kindergarten, and first grade teachers who truly give our students a fantastic foundation with Saxon Phonics!

Our students had such a great time at their AR Parties this week! Our amazing PTC treated them to Schulman's Movie Bowl Grille - Corsicana for a movie with kids pack for reaching their Accelerated Reader goals this school year. Afterwards, our classes went to IOOF Park and enjoyed a pizza lunch from Cicis Pizza (Cicis W. Hwy 31) and played. Congratulations students on reaching your AR goals!
Congratulations to our Navarro County Pens to Lens Award recipients. In the junior high division- Paulina won first place and Josi won second place. There was a three-way tie for third place with Luciano, Charles, and Adrian. JLCCS had a sweep of all of the junior high awards. Fellow classmates were in attendance to support and perform the scripts at the event.
Our sixth and seventh grade students attended a spiritual retreat this week out at the Gamez Farm. Their retreat focused on faith and fellowship. We were blessed to have Ms. Kim Brown as our facilitator and Mr. Mike Gamez prepared a wonderful lunch. Our students even enjoyed a little bit of fishing.
Our Swifties had a fantastic final meeting. Throughout the year they focused on being kind, being brave, and how to be a good leader. Special thanks to Mrs. Freeze and Mrs. Wilson for advising this club.
Mrs. Green’s Artist/Author Tea was a huge success. We are so proud of the hardwork our second grade class has done this year!
