Welcome from the Principal

Welcome to James L Collins Catholic School (JLCCS) where we foster life-long learners dedicated to academic excellence, discipleship, virtuous living, and servant leadership. I invite you and your family to explore our school community to learn more about our history, Catholic identity, and programs including athletics, academic competitions, and student clubs such as Chess, Guitar, Little Flower Girls, Art, and 4H.

Known as the best kept secret in Corsicana, we are located on the west side of town across from the hospital. JLCCS offers an excellent academic experience where students discover and develop their God-given talents and encounter success as they grow into saints and scholars.

James L. Collins Catholic School serves students from three years old through 8th grade and provides a faith-filled, nurturing environment where a rigorous academic program is offered that fosters life-long learning. Many of our alumni graduated this May among the top 10% of their high school class, and both the Valedictorian and Salutatorian in 2023 from Waxahachie Global High School are former JLCCS students.

Our school provides a place where all children are known, loved and served. Guided by our talented and dedicated teachers, children are taught to see God’s handprint in all subject areas and throughout His creation. The small classroom setting enables teachers to work closely with students to achieve excellence in discipleship, virtuous living, and servant leadership as well as academics.

This year we will begin a three year journey where we will dig deeper into our study of virtues. We will be guided by a program created by the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation in Nashville, Tennessee. “Virtues in Practice is a program for children in grades Pre-kindergarten through eight to grow closer to Jesus by imitating His life and virtues. …a whole school studies the same virtue each month, to provide a whole-school (and at home, whole-family) focus. The program covers 27 virtues over a three-year cycle, with 81 saints held up as models of the virtues.” Link to Virtue Program

I welcome you to visit our campus, meet our teachers and observe learning and virtuous living in action. We look forward to meeting you and hope that you and your family will come to love our community as much as we do and choose to become part of the James L. Collins Catholic School family, too.
