The James L. Collins Catholic School 3:16 Choir was invited to perform in the Rotunda at the Texas State Capitol this week.  The students were guests of Representative Cody Harris.  Their performance included a selection of six songs including: You’re a Grand Old Flag, Proud to be an American, Oh Happy Day, This Little Light of Mine, What the World Needs Now, and God Bless America.  Navarro College partnered with JLCCS and provided transportation for the school to get all of the students to Austin.  Music filled the Rotunda as the students performed and a crowd gathered to watch, film, and cheer them on.

JLCCS music teacher, Mrs. Cindy McCary, said “There’s not a better feeling than to stand in the Rotunda of our beautiful State Capitol and sing about the great State of Texas.  God bless America, Texas, and JLCCS!”

Afterwards the group from Navarro headed to the upper level of the House.  Representative Cody Harris recognized the school in front of the assembly and the students received applause.  Then the 3:16 Choir went on a tour of the Capitol before heading home.
